When Should Asphalt Cracks Be Filled

Asphalt cracks should be filled before they get too big where they can begin to break apart.  Once the cracks spread and begin to alligator, you run the risk of having the asphalt deteriorate to a point where your asphalt is unfix-able.   The best thing for you to do is to fill the cracks as soon as they begin to appear.  This also will aid in keeping water out and slowing the freeze thaw cycle.

Filling the cracks will extend the life of your asphalt and also help prevent trips and falls.  This also helps prevent potholes from forming and becoming a bigger problem.

It is a good idea to evaluate your asphalt just before winter, October or November is a good time.
